Quirky Stay at Quincy Hotel Singapore

On my latest trip to Singapore, I got a chance to stay for two nights at the Quincy Hotel Singapore. Quincy Hotel is a-four-star-hotel by the well-known hotel chain Far East Hospitality. It's a great place to stay for a business trip, but also a perfect place to stay-cation with a lover or family.

Two words to define Quincy Hotel: "quirky" and "stylish". The second I stepped into the hotel, I was in awe by its unique taste of interior and decided to fall in love already. The front-desk people were so nice and helpful. Customers are treated personally and with full concern, even for a basic check-in. To check-in, guests generally aren't required to pay for deposits. However, you might be asked to if your room wasn't booked pre-paid.

I'm happy to be able to crash in its Studio Room, a-26-square-meter room with an extra-large double bed and huge windows to the beautiful city views. The room's also featured with a flat-screen cable TV and private large bathroom, which also comes with a huge window to the room. The huge window's right beside the bathtub, so whenever I spent my time in the bathtub, I was able to see the bedroom and the city view outside the bedroom window. I love that I can enjoy the outside view right from my bathtub! The bathroom also provides complete basic amenities and compliments. From soap, shampoo, and conditioner, to hair-dryer and towels in different sizes.

On my visit, I didn't really use the TV, but I rather enjoyed using the Phillips bluetooth soundmachine. I always love any accommodation that provides entertainment amenities like bluetooth or dock speakers, since I'm more into listening music than watching TV. A cool detail: there's a smartphone provided in the room and you are allowed to take it with you and use it all day for free! At first I was so confused to find an ASUS smartphone on the desk of my room, but then I think it's just beyond thoughtful for the hotel to provide something like that.

What I love the most from the hotel is the bed. Like, oh, my gosh, it's super comfortable and heavenly! The best thing from having a two-full-scheduled-day trip is to be able to crash a cozy and restful bed. The pillows are so fluffy and cool to the touch. The bed's also super clean! Yes, I always get paranoia with beds that I don't own, especially the ones with blankets attached. Uncleaned and dusty beds always make my skin itchy and smeared by red spots. Oh, I almost forget to say that the sheets have this pleasant and calming scent, but I don't know it's either from the sheets itself or the room's air conditioner.

The second thing that I love the most is the artsy interior. The front desk area is a place that you would love to take photos. Quincy has this quirky taste on its interiors. Like high-back sofas in shocking pink in the front desk area and glowing mannequins in a corridor that leads to guest restroom. You'll always be surprised by its selections for the interior!

And what couldn't be more convenient is that the hotel's just a five-minute walk from the famed shopping district Orchard Road! The hotel is located at 22 Mount Elizabeth, Singapore 228517, basically on the same block with the well-known Mount Elizabeth Hospital. I've experienced walking down to Orchard Road from the hotel and it's really not that far. In fact, I really enjoyed the walk, especially because I did it at night. Although the hotel located on a dead-end street, explaining the rather quiet neighborhood, I'd say the hotel is on a safe neighborhood. Because when I walked back to the hotel late at night, there were police cars and security guards from other buildings along the street patrolling around.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to swim at Quincy's infinite glass pool on the 12th floor. I heard that it has color-changing LED lights and the view up there is cool, so I think it would be really great to ever experience swimming there. The hotel also has gym and sauna facilities. However, despite my saying about how the hotel is perfect for family staycation, the hotel isn't really suitable for children below 12 years old. Alas, I enjoy every second of my stay in the Quincy Hotel. Based on TripAdvisor, the rate for a standard room starts from IDR 2,662,000--a bit pricey but it's totally worth it!
